The recently added 21 foot deck has an uninterruped view across the 3 mile wide Potomac River to the Maryland shore and about 15 miles up to the Quantico Marine base. It is made of Trex, a totally maintenance free composite material. Old marine pilings decorated with flagpole, sundial, fishnet, ropes, and a heron (just like the real one often seen here) set the nautical mood.

A wood walk leads to the deck and front entrance. There is a lighthouse sitting on its own pedestal and a full width storage cabinet accessible from the driveway that forms a built-in bench for the deck.

The cast iron chiminea extends the outdoor season through most of spring and fall.
